When I photograph newborns, the emphasis is on the newborn. However, every once in a while I end up with an opportunity I simply can’t pass up! This sweet little guy came along during his brand new brother’s newborn session and I simply had to capture a few images of big brother with his daddy. They were so sweet and absolutely perfect together. Don’t let this inquisitive and serious face fool you, he was as full of smiles and spunk as any toddler.
Right in the middle of the session, while I was setting up the beanbag for his new brother, he gave me what is arguably my favorite picture of the year! He raced over to the rug where the basket was sitting and climbed inside. It perfectly represents his personality. Curious, energetic and simply happy to find fun in anything he comes across.
I couldn’t have planned it better if I’d tried. The best images are captured when I am completely forgotten about. It’s much harder to do with a studio setup, especially with an older child, but when it happens, it’s magical.
